Fellowships
Effective January 1, 2006 Hawaii Residency Programs administers 6 ACGME-accredited post-residency fellowship programs under the academic auspices of the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine. Fellowship offices and practice locations are located at the various health care delivery facilities that support fellowship training.

  • Geriatric Medicine Fellowship

  • Surgical Critical Care Fellowship

  • Sports Medicine Fellowship The JABSOM Division of Sports Medicine provides fellowship training in primary care sports medicine. This one-year, accredited fellowship provides training for primary care physicians who are interested in additional training in the medical needs of the athlete. The goals of the program are to equip physicians:(1) to provide care to athletes at every performance level; (2) to contribute to the body of knowledge in the growing field of sports medicine; (3) to teach sports medicine principles to other physicians and physicians in training; (4) to advocate for the benefits of exercise and sport in their practices, in their communities, and within their primary care specialty; and (5) to continue lifelong learning in sports medicine.
