EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS WHEN LIVING IN HAWAII

EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS WHEN LIVING IN HAWAII

Emergency Preparedness

Hawaii’s weather changes little with mostly sunny days and temperatures in the 80’s. There may be trade winds providing relief from the heat and windward or mauka showers (light rainfall on the windward side or mountain areas). However, occasionally it does experience natural disasters. Most common are tropical storms and flooding or flash flooding. More severe weather concerns include hurricanes (June to November), tsunamis (tidal waves) or earthquakes.

Emergency sirens are tested on the 1st WORKDAY of every month at 11:45AM. When the emergency sirens are sounded, tune in to a local radio or TV station for emergency information and further instructions.
