RESIDENCY & FELLOWSHIP PROGRAMS
HRP employs more than 220 trainees in 17 ACGME-accredited residency and fellowship programs. The programs are located on the island of Oahu with some programs offering clinical rotation experiences on the neighbor islands. Most recently, approximately 42% of residency program graduates and 38% of fellowship program graduates remained in Hawaii to practice medicine. The board pass rate is nearly 100% for all programs.

Employment Drug/Alcohol Testing
Each incoming resident is required to undergo drug and alcohol testing at one of the program’s participating hospitals PRIOR TO the resident’s first day of employment. Residents will be required to comply with all testing and pre-employment procedures as well as sign appropriate consent forms. Positive results for alcohol or inappropriate drug use, or failure to comply with stated procedures, may result in residency/fellowship employment termination.
