Internal Medicine Electives 2008-09
This page contains descriptions of the electives currently offered. Each resident has been assigned to a firm and each firm director needs to review and approve elective choices.
These are the number of electives for each level:
- Level 1 resident - 1 elective
- Level 2 resident - 1-2 electives
- Level 3 resident - 3 electives
Other Conditions
- Preference will be given to more senior residents, and then on a first-come, first-service basis.
- Electives are arranged only through the program office. Residents are not to contact the faculty supervisors directly to arrange electives. Exceptions are research and off-island electives (see Off-Island Elective Requirements link) and electives not offered in the Elective Handbook (see Request for Elective Not in Handbook link), which are independently-arranged.
- Changes in electives will only be made if requests are submitted eight (8) weeks prior to the start of the rotation
- NOTE: For non-U.S. citizens, it takes six months or more to obtain computer clearance at Tripler Army Medical Center.
