At Kuakini Medical Center, interns do not take overnight call when in ward rotations. At The Queen’s Medical Center, the night float intern provides cross coverage at night. The night float intern is also expected to respond to emergency situations and provide any other assistance to the on-call team when necessary. There is a day float upper level who helps with admission during the day.
