The Pediatric Department at the University of Hawai‘i and the Kapi‘olani Medical Center for Women & Children invites you to join us for 2 or 4 week rotations in: 

Applying for Electives in the Department of Pediatrics

Our goal is to accommodate each applicant’s desire to do an elective in the Department of Pediatrics. Contact: Pediatric Clerkship Administrator, for more information/any questions pertaining to the elective and to discuss which rotation is right for you.  Email:

Medical Students from Liason Committee of Medical Education (LCME) accredited US and Canadian medical schools need to apply via the Visiting Student Application Service (VSAS) . This application process was designed to streamline senior away electives by reducing paperwork, miscommunication, and time. Once the VSAS is completed then, students will be contacted by the Department of Pediatrics to schedule your elective.  Expected time frame from VSAS completion to notification is approximately 2 weeks.
