Exam and Research Requirments

Each year, the resident is required to take the following exams:
- American Board of Pediatrics In-Training Examination
- American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Psychiatry Resident In-Training Examination (PRITE)
- American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology Child Psychiatric Resident In-Training Examination (Child PRITE)
The residents rotating through psychiatry are required to participate in annual Mock Oral Board Exams.
All residents are required to take and pass Step III of the medical licensing exam by December 31st of their PGY 2 year.
Residents may take the certifying examination of the American Board of Pediatrics during the fall of the fifth year and may take the certifying examinations of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology at the end of their fifth year.
Prior to completing the program, the resident is required to complete an original research project to be presented at departmental grand rounds.
