Continuing Education
Residents are expected to attend university-wide conferences such as basic science,
clinical science, grand rounds, and statistical morbidity and mortality seminars.
Senior residents work with attendings to present basic science topics, and organize
the presentation and discussion of various cases and subjects for grand rounds. Clinical science,
as a mock oral complement to basic science, features discussions led by faculty of selected articles.
In addition to attending the university-sponsored conferences, residents are expected to attend the seminars
and conferences held at the hospital at which they are rotating.
